The first post

I thought I would try a small newsletter for anyone interested in receiving periodical updates from me. As I am no longer spending any time on Facebook I thought this could be a good way to share news and interesting things with family and friends.
Media
I have really been enjoying Bo Burnham’s latest creation “Inside”. I would describe this as a one man dramatic comedy variety show. It is basically a series of songs performed by Bo in a single room during the pandemic. The content of the songs is a satirical commentary on modern life. As a piece of art, I found it very interesting and as a collection of funny (sometimes serious) songs I have also been getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. Plenty of swears so not kid safe. It’s available on Netflix here. The special has more to it than songs but you can also find the songs on YouTube. Here is the first number.
I recently finished a new song.
Jaime has been busy making some great art. You can see it all on her Instagram.

Podcast episode recommendation - One of my favourite podcasts recently hosted an ornothologist from Yale University, Richard Prum. It was a very interesting conversation about various bird topics. I liked it so much that I made this promotional image with an amusing quote from the episode. Listen here.

Things we did
We went to a drag show in Toronto. The venue was really cool. Right down at the waterfront with a view of the city in the background.

The show itself was great fun. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time and we really enjoyed ourselves. Two of the queens were from the TV show Canada’s Drag Race and we were introduced to the other three for the first time at the show.

We spent a week at a cottage with our friends.

We met a family of loons.

We found some interesting stones.

Until next time
I hope you enjoyed my first update. I think this is a fun way to share our exploits with anyone who would be interested. As I mentioned in the intro, I think this is the best alternative to Facebook updates.
If you found this interesting and you think someone else might enjoy reading this please feel free to share it with others.
